Slouch

Slouch is another one of the good few places to eat along Bath Street. Slouch is a bar and venue for bands and djs on most nights, however also serves amazing food from the kitchen. Instead of ordering the usual ~ a main dish plus way too many sides ~ combo, we decided to order 3 mains to share.

For main number 1 we ordered the "Fleetwood Mac", which I have tried and loved before. Mac and cheese with chorizo and Cajun chicken served with garlic toast. I'm not usually the biggest fan of chorizo but this dish is amazing. Me and my friends from work have been here a couple of times on our lunch and this one is a favourite for them also. If you love mac and cheese then I’m pretty confident you will enjoy this.

Main number 2 was ghnocci in a tomato, basil and olive sauce. Again with garlic toast because what's better than carbs on carbs? This was only my second time trying ghnocci and it's definitely one of my new favs to order. I’m still uncertain if it’s more like pasta or potato (despite googling numerous recipes to check) but either way I'm not complaining.

Main number 3 was a chilli dog - a hot dog surrounded with chilli brisket, mozzarella and sour cream. It was served in a tortilla and I’m not going to lie I was disappointed to see that, however it was amazing and probably for the best too because a full bun might have been slightly too filling combined with everything else.

Multiple mains over sides might be the way forward (for me anyway) when there's just too many things you want to try. There was exactly 11 minutes between the first pictures and this picture below. I'm not sure if that's testament to how nice the food was or how hungry we were but would do it again.
